World Map of Aspergillosis Specialists

World Aspergillosis Day (WAD) is about spreading awareness. We will be at the Advances Against Aspergillosis and Mucormycosis (AAAM2020) meeting in Lugano, Switzerland, to integrate the call for action with the business of the day for some of the world’s top researchers and doctors.
Patients tell us that many medical professionals they talk to know little about and have never met someone who has aspergillosis. We can help improve this situation worldwide if we can identify where the expertise in aspergillosis is located.

Our challenge to you is to show the world where you are!

We have a map of the world that is set up for you to drop a pin on where you practice. There is room to identify your clinic, enter your webpages and, perhaps, even mention the members of staff who are available to see patients with aspergillosis.

We have several pins in the map already – mostly those of European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) centres of excellence or places patients have informed us they attend in Northern America and Europe; but we think that there must be more expertise out there! If we can show that there are specialists in every country of the world, it will make a difference.

Patients tell us that many medical professionals they talk to know little about and have never met someone who has aspergillosis, which is not surprising as it is rare. This illustrates why we need to increase awareness, as if they are not recognising aspergillosis, then patients cannot get the best care. The more patients we can show to the world, the more likely everyone will sit up and take notice.

Our challenge to you is to show the world where you are!

We have a map of the world that is set up for you to drop a pin on; you do not need to use your name, just where you live.

We already have 379 pins on the map with a pin in every continent of the world, but we think that there are many more of you out there. If we can show that there are patients in every country of the world, it will make a difference.
